Principal's Letter

August 7, 2017

Dear Bradley Families,

I am very excited to begin the 2017-2018 school year at Bradley Elementary! This is my fourth year as principal at Bradley and I am proud to continue to serve this wonderful community of students, staff and parents.

As we enter this school year, keep in mind that we are committed to high levels of excellence! We have a school-wide focus on AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) that provides instructional strategies, organizational, and communication tools that will encourage lifetime achievement as well as a culture of excellence. Additionally, at Bradley, we are dedicated to high levels of critical thinking in mathematics and reading. We approach mathematics and reading instruction by emphasizing practices that promote thinking skills so students may solve problems, research, communicate, invent and publish. Also, we are committed to providing a culture that promotes an environment of scholarly behaviors and social development through our school-wide PBiS program.

As Bradley’s principal, I welcome a partnership that is shared with teachers, families and students. Please continue to communicate with your child’s teacher about how to support your child at home or in the school. Additionally, we will be offering parental involvement opportunities throughout the school year through committee work, workshops, and volunteer opportunities. Communication for these events will be in the form of a monthly parent calendar, website, fliers and our Bradley Facebook page.

I am looking forward to sharing a positive school year with you!

Sincerely yours,
Amy Coker
